Welcome to the home of the International Studbook for Djallonké Goat & Sheep (ISDGS).

There was a need for an international studbook operation in both West and Central Africa. As well as in Europe. I am delighted to be able to exchange experience with both African and European breed fans through the African Ornamental Breeders Association (AOBA) and its ISDGS studbook.

I was looking for a small resistant and fertile hair sheep breed, that still gave a little meat and didn't give me any headaches about shearing and treatments for the woolfly. The Cameroon sheep was for me a much better alternative than the Ouessant

It is very important that African livestock breeds are "correctly" described outside our continent. And at the same time, we Africans must do everything we can to protect these amazing breeds. It's our living heritage.
